Beach Fichoza

The Fichoza beach is situated close to the city of Varna, 1-2 km to the south of the Galata quarter in an area of the same name. It is not easy to reach, but it is worth for those fond of sunbathing as close to nature as possible. One needs to leave Varna in southern direction and take the road to Galata. After passing by the Galata quarter of Varna, one needs to drive for another 2-3km. down the seaside road and then take the first asphalt road to the left. The road descends steeps to the shore and is accessible for all types of vehicles. Signs give a helping hand to first-time visitors, too.

The beach is about 1km. long and is bordered by a wood, where one can have a picnic or even spend the night in an improvised camp. Fichoza’s sand is not one of the finest on the coast, as a part of the beach is stony or covered with seashells. Nevertheless, one can find enough places where neither stones nor shells, while the main advantage of the stony shore is that one can gather seashells for dinner. There is also a restaurant (the one and only in the area), which offers a variety of freshly caught fish and shells, cooked deliciously. The beach is enjoyed by nudists, too, due to the lack of tourist crowds and proximity to nature. The woods with its meadows, on the other hand, are often visited by groups of riders, who are typically friendly to strangers.
