Grand Hotel Varna - by Alexandru Vasile-Bugarin on 18 Sep, 2008
I lodged seven nights at GHV, all inclusive, and it was not bad, considering the price. But I have to say that the Hotel is miles away from five stars. An ugly communist
concrete building, an undeniable air of decay, with swollen doors and dirty carpets. In the dinning room sometimes was imposible to find a plate or a spoon. And the fish - to say nothing about clams or squid - was allmost absent, despite the fact that we lied on the shore of the good old rich Black Sea.
People was kind (mostly), but again it is a shame that just a very few can speak a little English.
I do not complain, all in all, generally speaking was quite nice, but some things have to be improved, asap.

DO NOT go there! This a very dirty hotel rooms with walls mucegaiti, very big mess, all inclusive very weak. If you want good food and drink must be purchased. In conclusion, the hotel looks like one of 2 stars.

I was in Bulgaria in the summer of 2007 in Grand Hotel Varna and I quite liked it. It is completely renovated hotel, very clean, fantastic food and very very good restaurants. Indeed the choice is quite big as there were several restaurants offering from mediterranean food to traditional cuisine. They have some nice bars there, very trendy ones. Very good spa in the hotel and amazing kindergarten for the children. There is so much to do there, I think it is just perfect for families. The prices are very attractive. We spent as a family half our budget in comparison with other countries e.g. Spain when on holiday. Definitely going there again.

Hotel Grand Varna - by Amelia Morrison on 01 Jul, 2006
Having heard about this hotel from friends who visited it about 5 years ago and raved about it we were looking for a bit more luxuary than we actually got. Breakfast is a free for all and usually cold and nowhere to sit, the inside of the hotel was looking a bit tatty, worn carpets etc. We heard the hotel had changed hands and if that's the case it would appear that the new owners are relying on the hotel's good past reputation, whilst cutting corners. They won't get off with that forever and people will stop going which is a shame because if that's the best hotel on that coast, I'd hate to see the worst! St Konstantin is a great wee resort, the hotel is in a good location and could be miles better with a bit of effort. Shame on the new owners!
