Absolutely no meal or snack facilities available at lunchtime and if you brought food in you could be charged 11 Levs.
The breakfast buffet was satisfactory to start with although it was always scrambled eggs never a fried egg. As our two week stay progressed they stopped serving crepes and on our last two days there were no cereals available.
This is the ONLY hotel in which I have had to make my own bed. The maid smoothed out the bottom sheet on cleaning the room, our upper sheets (which were duvet covers) were arranged in some pattern or other. The task to make it into a bed was left to the guests. Sheets were only changed every 3/4 days. The same with the towels, they were not changed daily.
We were on B&B basis and went out for our evening meal. I made enquiries at reception about eating in and was told it would be 15 Lev for the buffet, never any reference to the first rate restaurant. One rainy night we asked at reception if the hotel had an a la carte menu ( they managed to produce 3 menus in the Restaurant) we had a super meal the one PLUS point. The hotel in failing to display a menu at the restaurant entrance lost a lot of income from hotel guests who may have opted to dine in the hotel. The management structure requires to be changed eg a Restaurant Manager with some vision to increase business and cater for the guests,a Wine waiterin the restaurant. A housekeeper to monitor cleaning of the rooms and the general areas etc.

They have actually a nice offer for renting a SMART.
So we went there on Tuesday around 12:00, and asked for a SMART for 6 days. We were told by the receptionist to come back one hour later as she needed to talk to the manager.
So we came back one hour later and were told that our request is ok, and we should leave our name and phone number, and pick up the car the next day at noon.
So we arrived next day at noon at the reception to pick up our reserved SMART. The (other than the day before) receptionist told us that the car was broken, and in repair, and we should come back tomorrow. We agreed, and left disappointed.
The next day, at 12 I called the Hotel, and asked about our reserved SMART. I was told again that the cars were out of order and being repaired. Then I told them I would like to cancel my reservation and hung up.
We were not guests at the Hotel. They have a very visible advertisement outside for their SMARTs, and no note that it would only be for guests.
If ever we would go back to Sozopol, which I do not believe, for sure we would not stay in this hotel.
After reading the previous comment on this hotel I was a bit nervous about what I would find. I am very pleased to report that I did not recognise the hotel from the previous description.
We were all given sea view rooms without having paid the suppliment and the staff are very friendly and speak good english. Yes there is no bar at the pool but are 8 steps too many to climb. If you are on teh bottom level on the sunbathing area with the indoor pool then there is also a spiral staircase to climb but we used the lift!!!
All 4 of us had a great holiday. Sozopol is a lovely little place - reminded me a bit of Nessebar when we visited it 11 years ago. I hope the it does not go by way of Nessebar and become too overdeveloped.
I would definately go to this hotel and again
the rooms were so clean, our maid maria came in every day, changed the sheets every day, gave us clean towels and mopped the foor.
there was no live entertainment in the evening in the hotel, which meant you had to go and look for evening entertainment else where other than the hotel. however this would have been perfect if you are looking for a quiet hotel.
would easily go back to the villa list, 10/10 for everything!
