| 19 Jun, 2006 | Gerry T (62.253.32.4) | Just back 17/6/06 | Lovely hotel, rooms very large. We had a kids den, you have to pay a deposit for the playstation. Weather wasn't brilliant, lots of thunder and lighting. The only thing we feel let the hotel down was the food. There is very little selection and you will never see pasta/postatoes/rice on the same night. The first 3 days of holiday were nice and relaxing but after that the hotel was full to capacity. The teenagers were outside shouting and larking about until 3/4am, so many children with no respect for the hotel or it's grounds. We have 2 children aged 11 and 5, so it's not that we are old and miserable. Kids club was okay, usually two sessions a day sometimes they do an evening session at no extra charge, 9.30pm to 11.30pm. Reps ara plentyful, they are available 9am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm daily.
There are several snack bars, but these are not always open at the times they should be. On Friday we had to queue for 40 minutes just to get a filled roll as all the other snack bars were closed. Would recommend booking the barbeque. Unfortunately we would not go back. |

| 17 Jun, 2006 | anonymous (84.54.138.54) | late check-out | Dear guests, if you want to pay late check-out do that in advance please. Also, you should be sure that it's shown on the rooming lists |
| 17 Jun, 2006 | Paul (195.93.21.35) | Do not worry | I went on Holiday the 19th May for 2 weeks with my wife & kids 1,4,7 & 9. 12 very hot days & 2 cloudy. Hotel very clean. Food okay. Beach lovely as are the kebabs, pizza's & ice creams served on the beach. After reading some of these reports I feel they can be a bad thing because we got the letter re the building work & there really is nothing to worry about & when the water park is complete this will be a unbelievable hotel.
Can see Dolphins swimming in the sea from your balcony if you are lucky to have a room at the back of the hotel. Recommend the donkey saffari but a bit disappointed with the lazy day boat trip. Entertainment okay in the evening for kids but did not last long. Try the barbecue restuarant & sunshine which you have to book on the day before 10.00am. Enjoy we did. |
| 16 Jun, 2006 | Gerry (195.93.21.35) | Beach Towels | Just back from the Royal Bay. Beach towels were available from reception with, from memory, a deposit of 20lev.
Some of the sunbeds outside our hotel also had mattresses - most people however tended to hold on to their mattress. The best time for grabbing one was either a Monday or Friday evening (i.e. changeover days) |
| 16 Jun, 2006 | Bob (194.158.204.14) | Towels | Are there beach towels available or I take some with me? |
| 16 Jun, 2006 | Bob (194.158.204.14) | any towels for seabeds? | Are there any towels for seabeds available or shall I take mine with me? |
| 16 Jun, 2006 | Lisa (195.93.21.35) | Royal Park Hotel | Hi all, I was determined that I would be writing a good report on the hotel contrary to most of the comments I read for last year and I pleased to say that I can!
The hotel is stunning, the rooms are generous, the whole complex is immaculately clean and tidy. The food isn't great but is ok, if your willing to try something thats not familiar then you can be pleasantly surprised. It certainly isn't undercooked and the meals are varied daily so you will always find something that you can eat. You may get a bit tired of eating luxurious cakes for desert but they are particularly yum! The entertainment is a bit scarce from the first choice team but there is a good show on around 9 o'clock put on by the hotels Animation team of professional dancers. Look out for the Maximus show every monday, some very hunky male strippers for the ladies! As far as the kids clubs go, there is always something going on, my boys are 8 but they didnt find anything they wanted to join in within the kids clubs. If you have children from around 4-6 then it appeals to that age group. The teens around the complex were happy as is it safe for them to go off and do their own thing and the ones I spoke to said that it was the best hol theyd had! There are 4 restaurants that you can eat at but I personally preferred the main one in the hotel. There are many little shops and tattoo/piercing places. I was adamant that Id never get a tattoo but came home with 2 and a pierced belly button! Its very cheap to get it done, and clean and safe from my experience. We went on the Off Road Adventure excursion. I would highly recommend it, it was a great laugh and we got to go accross the mountains in a jeep, do horse riding and quad bike riding, archery, air rifling and visit a fantastic deserted beach which was breathtaking. A short walk from the hotel is an equestrian centre which costs 32 lev for an hours ride in the mountains. Give that a go too! The staff were as friendly as you are towards them and as you get to know them they will always greet you with a smile so don't be put off at first. There were a couple of power cuts, one which lasted a few hours another of an hour. This is quite normal apparantly and to be expected but caused minimal problems. Overall it was a great holiday. The only negative things is that you can quickly get bored but if you get out of the complex for a bit it makes it so much better. Also there are no all-inclusive cocktails, but be careful of the spirit measures! They are very large and they dont seem to have mastered the watering down of drinks as yet which is good. Highly reccommend the hol for all ages. The building work was totally unnoticed so dont panic over that! Well worth the money and well worth a visit. Enjoy...xx |
| 13 Jun, 2006 | angie (62.252.64.12) | ROYAL PARK HOTEL/BULGARIA | just back from a wonderful 2 week holiday, hotel very clean and smart, rooms fab, food fine could always find something to your taste.no noise from nearby work, weather was fab, pool cold but good.entertainment for kids super, not much in evening for adults but plenty of bars and drinks.snacks all day till 5 nice, pizza super, beach fab, sunbeds plenty.power cuts couple times a week but got by,but lifts do go out, book other restaurants for a change, staff a little stern but a couple of pounds soon make them smile,if any questions do ask me i try to help,we had a fab hols and did not want to come home, would go back tomorrow if we could..super place. |
| 13 Jun, 2006 | Gerry (195.93.21.35) | Royal Bay | just back from the Royal Bay. Contrary to some reports from last year the food was great and we had a fantastic time.
There is a new waterpark being built near the security entrance to the Royal Park. It will in no way affect your holiday and besides it is very near completion, landscaping currently being done. I suspect it will be completed within the next few weeks |
| 08 Jun, 2006 | Val Harrod (213.86.133.215) | Royal Bay Hotel | We stayed at the Royal Bay last year. The hotel is very clean, food ok. Staff very helpful, nothing is to much trouble.
I am going back in July with my two teenage grandchildren. The resort has a private beach. It is easy to get in to sunny beach were there are many resturats and shops as well as a sandy beach. |

Our friends have booked to go on the 7th of July 2006, we too have the chance to go with our daughter who has only just turned 1, my wife is greatly concernded for the health of our daughter (all the reports over the food/hygene we have read). Now I now taking a 1 year old abroad isnt the best of ideas, but we really could do with a holiday, the wife wants to go to mainland Spain, but I think this would be OK, any comments please? |

| 04 Jun, 2006 | Craig McDougall (192.88.166.35) | Info req'd | Hi there,
We are a family of 3 travelling on the 17th July to the Royal Park. I must say that the recent reviews from those who have just returned have certainly helped to put my mind at ease as I was becoming increasingly wary !!! Is it as difficult as is made out to get sunbeds of a morning ??? Is it good for the kids ? What's the weather like ? What's NOT included in the all-inclusive deal ? |
| 03 Jun, 2006 | elizabeth (86.130.23.130) | royal park hotel | ME AND A PARTY OF SIX ARE GOING TO THE ROYAL PARK HOTEL ON THE 9TH OF JUNE AND WE HAD A LETTER TODAY SAYING THAT THERE IS BULIDING WORK GOING ON ME AND MY MATE ARE WORRIED ABOUT OUR 4 KIDS AS THEY ARE SMALL AND WE DONT WANT THEM TO GET HURT.CAN ANYONE TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON.THANKS ELIZABETH |

| 02 Jun, 2006 | Dawn Pitt (159.101.41.144) | Royal Bay ? | Hi Ben
We are in the same boat - I've spoken to CS today at DH and she was telling em that there is tis holiday complex there and NOTHING else - so fine if you want to stay there all day otherwise you will have to travel further afield. We have a 3 yr old and like to "stroll" out on an evening to get an ice cream looking in the sops etc so am not sure if this is really for us. I've asked DH about other AI hols departing from Manchester either Sunday/Monday and they only have Costa Dorada. Hope someone gets back to us soon .... Dawn |
| 02 Jun, 2006 | Lisa (213.169.41.122) | Royal Park | Hi there all, I am at the royal park hotel as we speak and I thought it might be a nice idea to put everyones minds at rest! The building work is so minimal it was hardly worth the letter that we got about it. I was worried but be assured, it will not affect you in any way, there is no noise and dirt at all. The worst you may hear is a hammer as you are walking out of the complex, it is far away enough from everything that you will not even notice. I have been here 1 week and didnt notice the work going on until yesterday so that cant be bad ay!! :-) The weather up until now had been glorious, has rained a bit the past couple of days but not enough to spoil too much.
Any fears about the hotels reveiws, well, in some cases I can see where theyre coming from but on the whole it is a stunningly clean, friendly and beautifully built hotel. Ok, admittedly the food isnt superb, but there is something that will appeal. The only complaint I have is that you dont get cocktails all inclusively but hey, its no biggy! You are all gonna have a fab time so quit your worrying, its cool! Wishing you all a good hol, Kind regards from Elenite Lisa xxx |

going to royal park hotel on 5th of june and like everyone else was assured building work wouold be finished(booked with going places & they didnt even know about until i told them!) like richard can anyone let us know how noisy it was? did it cause a problem? |
| 02 Jun, 2006 | susan (81.155.161.99) | Building work | Hi Richard Returned from Royal Park Hotel on Monday.
We were at the back of the hotel the water park isnt right next to the hotel it is at the bottom of the long driveway up to the hotel. When we were there we hardly noticed any work going on, and at that stage building work was going on in several close areas to the hotel. |

| 02 Jun, 2006 | Richard (81.174.151.165) | Royal Park | To all the people who have just returned, how bad is the building work? I originally moved my holiday because of the work involving the aquapark and the noise. I was originally going on 22nd May, but received a letter about the building of the Aquapark 2 weeks before i was due to leave. I then forwarded to 12th june as First Choice said that the work would cease by 1st June due to building legislation in Bulgaria. However, with just a week to go before we depart, the letter once again came through the door this time telling us of the AquaPark building work at the side of the Royal Park Hotel. They say there are cranes errecting the water slides and hand tools being used.
I am rather annoyed that First choice only send out these letters with just over a week before the holiday is due to commence. They know by then that the majority of people will still go where as if they had told people earlier, they would have cancelled or changed to a different resort. We have no choice but to go this time and are determined to enjoy ourselves. |
| 01 Jun, 2006 | Lorraine (82.40.201.45) | Elenite Holiday Village | Im only back a matter of days and im booking up for Sept again, if your looking for a blackpool kind of holiday then head to sunny beach but if you want a peaceful quiet holiday i would def recommend it. I went with my 2 yr old son and he had a ball so taking him back for his birthday. |
| 01 Jun, 2006 | Ronnie (213.150.1.76) | Hotel Royal Park - Baby Bed | Dear All!
We are going to Royal Park on the 14th June with a 2year old boy. Our travel ageneny just informed us that the baby-bed is just a non-binding whish of the customer. Is this a problem? I thought that Royal Park is a child-friendly hotel. Shall I take a bed with me??? Looking forward in getting any information. Thanx, Roni |
| 01 Jun, 2006 | Susan (81.155.160.159) | Royal Park Hotel | I have just returned from the Royal Park hotel.Heres some answers to some of the questions.
In the Royal Park Hotel area you can eat in one of the 3 restaraunts, there is the main restaurant, then the ala carte, and taverna the last two you have to book up for. Cashpoints and phone boxs are a bus ride away, room phones are very expensive to use beware!! we made 15minutes worth of calls which cost us £35 there were also problems when our children (who were back in England)tried to ring in to speak to us on our room phone on both occasions they couldnt get through. Elenite is a result on its own there are shops on the complex but you are cut off from any main shops. If you happen to smoke cigars take them with you as no where on the complex sells them and in Sunny Beach which is a bus ride away they are very expensive my husband paid £10 for two packs!! |
| 31 May, 2006 | jo (62.254.64.12) | bad reviews | we are a family of 6 and travelling on the 2nd of june quite concerned on the bad reviews anyone been recently ?whats it like?...im very excited..... |
| 31 May, 2006 | Johan (213.114.245.95) | Restaurants | Does anyone know how many restaurants there are in the area? |
| 31 May, 2006 | Gerry (62.253.32.4) | Towels | Do I need to pack beach towels or are these avaliable daily?
Many thanks |
| 26 May, 2006 | Gill (80.192.240.20) | Elenite Village | There is no cash machine in the village but there is one in the town - just a bus ride away.
|
| 25 May, 2006 | Richard (81.174.151.165) | Elenite Holiday Village | From what I understand, the people staying in the village are able to eat in any of the restaurants within the complex and also at the Royal Bay Hotel. I don't think they are allowed to eat at the Royal park Hotel though.
As I understand it, there are different colour bands which you have on your wrist to differentiate between your accomodation. Those staying in the Royal Bay hotel being the poorer band, Those in the Elenite Village being able to eat anywhere except the Royal Park Hotel, and those in The Royal park being able to eat anywhere in the complex. Hope this helps :) I'm going on 12th june to Royal park and it can't come soon enough :) |
