Rooms are pretty spacy and clean. Ok, the staff might be not the most experienced but at least they want to be friendly. The bar tender is very friendly and amusing guy too. Dont't worry to book it. I think it's the worst place i've been in my life. lots of reasons: 1. dirt in my room. 2. food expired and cheep. 3. elevators broked down. 4. doors at the balcony doesn't work. 5. the stuff treets you like gurbage, they doesn't listen to your complains, all the say is: "NOT MY PROBLEM". 6. the food for the evening is the remainings for the day, reheated and recoocked. 7. the pool ... is not quite a pool ... it's a hole with water in it, also you can find there dirt, leafes, food, etc.; probably the water stays there since the begining of summer until the autumn, never to be changed. There are lots of oter reasons you shouldn't stay there. The hotel is clean and the personnel is very nice. They are kind and they try to assist you as soon as possible. I had room 303 and it had the view right towards the pool- it was a very quiet room. We didn't have a balcony but I personally didn't mind because I didn't go there to stay on the balcony(room 305 had a balcony); I went there to go to the sea.Some rooms do not have a bathtub- we had one.The food was allright- except for the pasta - spaghetti - they had a bit too much olive oil. We didn't have hot water for allmost 2 days but it was fixed after we spoke to one lady at the reception- before that we spoke to one younger guy and it didn't make any difference.Therefore , talk to the older lady at the reception, choose the rooms next to the pool, and don't eat spaghetti! :) At the price we paid, it was by far the best trip ever to the seaside. You have an exchange in the lobby- open 24 h, and some shops- but try to avoid as much as possible buying goods such as toothpaste from there , and go to the shops in the center because there you find the products half price. After I knew these little things , I had the greatest time ever. Go there and have fun!It's worth it! We stayed at Dana Palace Hotel we arrived late at night and were put in a room on the side near the road and as soon as we went into the room we did not like the noise, and the room was not to nice tiles broken in the bath room and the bathroom was not to clean. I asked the charming young man on reception if it were ppossible to move to a pool view room and he said of course, it was no problem, but it would have to be after breakfast the next day this was done and the room was lovely basic but clean and spaciouse, it was like moving to a different hotel. breakfast was quite good, but they do cater for the Germans, but there was plenty it is best to be one of the early ones though, as some of the best things go first.the staff were lovely but the pool man BEWARE young single girls he tries it on with them all, god knows why he is no oil painting!!! the resterants are plenty we went to a place called Evergreen the food was to die for and the people were lovely the music was very entertaining (Duo Janet) staff work very hard. Re we going back? I agree with other comments this is a very old photo and does not do it any justice at all. It actually has five floors. And the pool is just the right size for the hotel (nobody left towels on the sunbed at 6am). My stay in Dana Palace - by Maria Colman on 22 Aug, 2006 Don't listen to reviews. The hotel room I stayed in (family 43A) was lovely and had beautiful seaviews. The staff were lovely. Repairs were done immediately although most of the sunbeds were broken (and my son (plus another child) cut their legs on them).Breakfast was a nightmare, total chaos, although the food and by the pool was very good. Maids were very friendly and kind. I work in this resort and we had a client who was a single lady with a baby in a buggy and she was pregnant. she could not cope with the stairs and her buggy and pregnancy getting to the pool or back from the resort up a hill so we moved her to another hotel. it is a nice place and you should have a nice time there although be prepared that you may be lifting your buggy a few times a day! enjoy you holiday, you will like it. When we got there we found that there was nothing to worry about. Its was clean and tidy. The room was cleaned daily and towels were changed regularly. It was basic but had everything you needed for a relaxing holiday. The pool was cleaned twice-a-day, and the bar staff were fantastic. The hotel was a 5 minute walk up a steep path from the main resort - idal for young families, as there was no noise from the clubs and restaurants. Definately recommend asking for a pool view,as the noise from the main road can be quite loud, especially with late night transfers. If you go in to Varna make sure you get dropped of in the main shopping area, which isn't by the Cathedral. There are plenty of amazing bars and restaurants. The pool area was fantastic & well looked after, there was a man there all day keeping an eye on things, cleaning and sorting out the sunbeds etc. There is steps or a hill down to the beach and shops, but even as parents of a 9 month old, we didn't find this a problem. It gave us some well needed exercise to walk back up the hill after some lovely meals! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay whilst visiting Bulgaria. Pat on 14 May, 2006 Does anyone have anything good to say about this hotel in 2006 Hotel Dana palace - by June Rafferty on 18 Mar, 2006 My husband and i stayed in this hotel in july 2004 and then july 2005 We went back in july 2005 because the hotel was spotless and the pool was cleaned regular and all the staff were very nice.But when we returned in July 2005 it was a big mistake ,the place was dirty and the smell in the corridors was terrable .The pool was dirty and never cleaned .It was a big disappointment.The bar man was over charging for drinks till my husband told him off,the only person in the hotel who made it worth while going to it was Oggie he could not do enough for you.We did not get fresh bed linen or towels,were told the reason for this was the owner had taken over the dana park ,so the laundry was being used for both hotels.Will never go back to this hotel and we have been going to G/Since 1994 The Dana palace was once known as the Sinchetts Hotel Dana Palace - by Martin Fraser on 11 Mar, 2006 I stayed in this hotel september 2005. The bar was too loud, the lifts were always breaking down and the pool was a joke. pool water was never circulated and was dirty green by the end of the holiday. there were broken tiles and the lifeguard was forever asleep or trying his luck with the women guests. we complained about the pool conditions but never got anywhere, until someone contacted the health and safety officers. they asked for the pool to be cleaned within two days or they would close it down. needless to say it was never cleaned. it was a really great place to stay if you wanted to see the real life fawlty towers and Pedro the lifeguard was the biggest joke, only bettered when he tried to swim. This year i am going back to Sunny Beach, which is in a differant league.
