Hotel perla - by Tina bower on 13 Sep, 2014
We booked last minute as it sounded the ideal hotel for us. Turned out the opposite. Although we cannot fault Maria her helpfulness was great the rest of the hotel was odd. It's very very dated, beds and sheets not comfortable. One of our sheets had holes in it through wear and tear. Breakfast was awful. No choice. Evening meals were worse, we got to the stage we didn't want to return for it. We were the only ones eating there and felt totally in the way. They only put one light on in the restaurant and left the rest in darkness. After our meal we would retire to the restaurants balcony but soon gave that up as a bad idea as we weren't giving any lights. Spent the eves in our room bored. They shut the bar at odd hrs as early as 8 pm some eves so we were left with no drinks. Couldn't even get a cup of tea as there were no facilities. In the end we realised we were flogging a dead horse and bought drinks bk to the hotel and sat on our tiny balcony. It felt like the hotel were very penny pinching and doing their best not to spend any money out to accommodate guests. There is an older man there who helps Maria and he used to sit in the restaurant just watching at meal times. It made us feel very uncomfortable. He couldn't speak much English but a friendly smile would've gone a long way instead of ignoring us. As for the beach being 800 metres away, forget it, it's a long long walk down hill. We are fit and baked but it was too much for us. Luckily we had a car otherwise we would've wasted our money being there. Will never ever go bk to the hotel. You can get such better facilities for the same money elsewhere.

Visited at last minute in Sept. 2005. Small and a bit off the beaten track but extremely warm welcome, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice evening meals. Regular buses to Varna close by at very low cost.

In the middle of nowhere, although very peaceful. They offer a bus shuttle into St Constintine and Varna each day, the driver lives in a green shed by the gate! If you are Welsh, and your name is Dave, they will love you!!

miles away from centre. ownwer is quite scary, she didnt want us to leave during the day and quite aggressive when we booked a boat trip with a company in golden sands. she was also responsible for taking us back to the airport but slept in so we had to drive like maniacs to get our flight!!
