Visitor Comments	sunset hotel - by Michelle on 06 Sep, 2008 Just back from the Sunset hotel about 2weeks. It was ok. Accomodation quite basic,family split level room very dangerous for small children as there is a spiral staircase with no rails, we had to get moved out of this type of room, bar staff were very friendly and chatty, maids were ok, they don't seem to clean rooms if they think you're in there......we were there 4/5 days when we had to ask them to clean the room, carpet on room floors, 3 small kids so you can imagine!! towels seem to be scarce....they only give you clean towels every 3 days..but they don't give you enough towels per person for 3 days which means you will use the same towels more than once.....however if you complain to management you will be sorted out...daily. not very professionally run as you will see managerial type members of staff hanging about foyer smoking and on mobile phones or sleeping. Alot of steps, we managed with the buggy, but not suitable for anyone that is wheelchair dependent personBreakfast, i couldn't eat it but other family members did...not for fussy or picky eaters. We ate there during the day and the food was dead on...but when ordering use the menu and point to what you want as sometimes there can be confusion as to what you want. Bar stays open til last customer leaves..regardless of the time!!!!!!! remember to tip.......you will be well looked after!!!!! bulgarians aren't the friendliest of people and aren't overly friendly/nice in restuarants. Good Hotel - by PaShTeX on 25 Jul, 2008 Great Hotel, But Bad Breakfasts =((( Good Place 4 Hotel sunset hotel - by janie mccune on 07 Jul, 2008 hi ive previously entered a comment on this hotel and wanted to leave another one. just last sept i returned to sunset for a week yhis time i went with my mum for a break, as i enjoyed my stay there the year previous this was were we returned, there were improvements made and a refurbishment of the dining room, the breakfast were better and we had a great time. the staff were there usual friendlyness but for my mum they could do no better, very quickly they realised mum was blind as we dont mention to people, but the staff couldnt have been more helpful to her.even the bulgarian people in the resort were friendly and very helpful. we had a ride on the horse and carriage mum loved that, we dressed up in victorian time dresses had our pics done and the people in that outlet were extreemly good.four towers resturant was as usual of good standard and the whole holiday was fab, thanks bulgaria sunnybeach for making our holiday special. my husband and i our going back in sept but this time we are stayin in the yavor palace hotel half board simply because this was a special deal. if anyone has good tips about it let me know hotel - by tony on 29 Jun, 2008 the picture is old the hotel now is very cool have very interesting thing and is very very good POOL - by jackie lavelle on 02 Apr, 2008 im going to sunset hotel in july and i was looking at the pool on the enternet, it looks small!! could some one please tell me its just the photo thats small and when i get there the pool will be big P.L.E.A.S.E sunny beach - by dublin johnny on 04 Aug, 2007 just back from the sunset hotel and have to say i had 1 of the best holidays of my life and iv,e been on a few!the hotel for a 3 star was perfect the staff where great very friendly and the people staying there in general where great we really metsome good friends in our time staying there. sunny beach itself was great the food the nitelife was fab a mixture for young and old just watch out for the taxi drivers i notice a lot of them have the meter running thats been on before they even pick us up so just arrange a set fair sure you,d nearly walk everywhre anyways. the beer works out about 1.20euro and a meal for 4 turns out around 20 euros. so basically you,ll hav a great time we,re goin back in 5 weeks again it was that good so enjoy Sunset Hotel - by Chris Mc Avoy on 23 Jul, 2007 Hi Karen, I will be there in two weeks as well:) anyway maybe see u there! i will tell what its like - by karen on 22 Jul, 2007 i am gion there in 2 weeks time and i will tell you all whats its like . Can u let me know how much things cost these days, examplea pint of beer a meal, taxis, etc etc, any help would be great About the hotel - by Mary on 05 Feb, 2007 Wantin 2 know if this hotel is worth goin 2 if any1 can let me know & if there is any water parks sunset hotel - by janie mccune on 16 Oct, 2006 my husband took me away for my 40th birthday we have never been to bulgaria before and we loved it we stayed at sunset hotel, it was a pleasent hotel, the room was cleaned often , we had our towels changed every other day, we could not fault the breakfasts though im not a breakfast person , my husband had a cooked one every morning, he did say they were not very warm, if there was no fresh fruit left for me which many mornings this was the case, we found that other guests ie the german guests were bagging it all. tut tut overall our stay was great, though we did enjoy the carvary meal at the fiesta hotel next door, we had been told by people to try that indeed 12 levs each worked out approx 4 pounds cant beat that,there was the most nicest restuarant we found and eat in it most of the time we were there, four towers, they do the best a speciality for two you must try it,but only if your hungary, i called it the belly buster.cant wait to go back, ye i could stay ther in the sunset again ,no probs Sunset Hotel Sunny Beach - by Will & Helen on 07 Sep, 2006 Stayed here for 2 weeks. Excellent location near the beach but set back far enough from main prom to avoid the noise. Hotel is attractive rooms are basic but adequate with air con, TV (only CNN in english) and a fridge. The food was disappointing. we were B&B the buffet breakfast was limited for us. If not in good time the glasses for juice not available, cornflakes, bread etc ran out and staff slow to replace them. Some staff not very pleasant and management seemed to be non existant. Not many ate in the Hotel during the day. You could go to the neighbouring Feista beach 4 star hotel and get a 4 course meal for 12 leva (£4) We recommend the Friends resturant beside the Victoria Palace Hotel for excellent food great service and very reasonable. Towels to be changed every 3 days but ours wee not and we always had to ask for fresh ones. Bedlinen was not replaced on time and again we had to remind them. Smoke detector on stairwell was beeping for complete two weeks signalling need for a battery change. Inspite of reporting it several times it was never replaced. When we reported water driping from the Air Con unit one night the porter came and looked at it and then returned with a bucket to catch the drips saying "no problem tomorrow." We refused to sleep in a room with a constant drip all noght into a bucket near the bed. With better management and different attitude of some staff this could be a great place to stay. We would return to Sunny Beach but not Sunset Hotel. how lovely - by nichola brierley on 28 Aug, 2006 the hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. our rooms were cleaned every day to a good standard and even when we went fishing the staff cooked our fish for us free of charge. the bar staff were absolutly fantastic and even joined in our conversations. overall i wouldnt stay anywere else but here and sunny beach is an absolutly amazing place! i love sunny beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sunset hotel - by jim on 14 May, 2006 hi, just back. the other comments are fair - the hotel is very nice (best part of town) but quiet. the rooms are clean (you get tv, air-conditioning, safe and a powerful shower) and the maids are in every day although they don't do much more than make the bed and mop the bathroom floor. the staff are friendly but not very talkative (a lot of bulgarians are like that) so don't take it personally. food isn't good (you need to be down at 8am for a warm breakfast & even then its pretty basic) so go bed and breakfast and eat out - you can have dinner at the 5 star hotels nearby for 12 lev & theres lots of cheap restaurants in the resort (try the james joyce pub at the far end of town - very cheap). the swimming pool is very small and you'd need to keep an eye on small children. the hotel itself is at the far end of the beach from where all the "action" would be so its a 15 minute walk to where most of the pubs and restaurants are - handy if you want to get some sleep at night. the beach is 2 minutes walk from the back of the hotel and very nice. when you're there, make sure to visit nessebar (lovely old town) - you can get a bus for 20p from the top of the main square. the town market - full of stalls selling cheap "designer" clothes is also there. Try to go on the day-trip to the blue mountains (avoid the bulgarian folk-night). overall, the hotel is probably best suited to those who want a clean, cheap, quiet hotel as a base for a holiday. the resort itself wouldn't have enough to keep you occupied which is why i recommended the day-trips - you'd get very bored if going for two weeks. they're building new apartment blocks everywhere although the building work is supposed to stop for the summer season. food, drink and clothes are all very cheap (meal and a pint for £3 !)so good if you're on a budget. overall, a pleasant enough holiday but glad to get back. sunset hotel - by jim on 01 May, 2006 hi - i'm going here next week. can anyone tell me what its like & what there is in the way of bars/restaurants nearby worth visiting. thanks. i'll post my own review when i get back. uk - by gordan clark on 30 Apr, 2006 very,very nice hotel. food and general - by jo on 29 Aug, 2005 The food was absolute rubbish to say the least.We often went to Fiesta Beach Hotel which is out of the back of Sunset for a club sandwich at dinnertime. Rooms were fine, maids in every day. If you like music round the pool you will be fine if you like Boney M or Abba. Hotel was always quiet, too quiet for us. We like a laugh and a joke with staff, its a shame it wasnt possible with the staff at this hotel, they wernt interested. There is no shop, no indoor pool, no doctor on site, no hairdresser and the kiddies play area was two swings. Pool is all one depth about 5ft deep.Hotel was beautiful inside but restaurant was always empty. Dont ask for a cheeseburger, I got 2 slices of toast with cheese in the middle. If you are going to Bulgaria for a really really quiet holiday then this is the hotel for you, pool bar and inside bar quiet and empty 9 times out of ten.
